One of the fourth semester students on Master of Accounting Science, Master and Doctoral Program (MD), Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University, Sariyatul Ilyana won the highest award as an Accounting Technician Course Instructor, at the annual event held by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendibud) in collaboration with the Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung Islands titled “Appreciation of Education Teachers (GTK) PAUD and Community Education (Dikmas) Achieving and Dedicated 13th in National Level”. Ilyana, her nickname, represents DI Province. Yogyakarta to compete in the Accounting Technician Course instructor competition category from a number of 22 categories of appreciation types attended by 445 best delegates from all provinces in Indonesia.

Previously, the second child of four siblings, worked in Magistra Utama Yogyakarta as an accounting instructor since 2017. Magistra Utama Yogyakarta is a non-formal institution in the form of a one-year expertise education program, which aims to prepare graduates who are more ready and quick to work fields. The experience of teaching during the Magistra Utama encouraged her to more innovate in the transfer of knowledge to students who dominated by millennials. The “Go Go Case” learning method based on the application of Trade Accounting.apk aims to encourage students to have a high work ethic.

High dedication to the institution he served in then sent her to the prestigious national event. Previously, Ilyana’s strict selection process must be followed starting from the city level allowance, then at the provincial level and at its peak was the national level competition in the city of Pangkal Pinang on 23-28 June 2019. The instructor category of Accounting Technicians contested 17 delegates and participants were only given 30 minutes each to take part in the four stages of selection. One of the selection stages required participants to be microteaching, ie. learning methods presentation, and Ilyana used “Go Go Case” to conquer the jury. “At first I was insecure because I saw the profile of the jury who was so expert in their field, besides that the other participants were dominated by various university lecturers. Only I am still a student, but thanks to prayers and support from my parents, I was able to achieve the award, “said Ilyana. Some of the prizes Ilyana received were trophies, cash and short courses to Europe for three months. Ilyana succeeded not only materially but was able to boast of the MD FEB UGM program where she learned a lot which then in creative and innovative ways benefited more people. Congratulations. -RP
