REACH: Mind Power and Control for Students activity which was presented by Mr. Denny Farabi. This activity, which aims to optimize students’ thoughts and emotions so they can learn more effectively, is mandatory and is participated in by active students of the FEB UGM Master of Science and Doctoral Program.
This activity began with a presentation by Mr. Denny Farabi regarding the structure of the human brain and the waves in it (brain waves). He said that in the brain there is data and information that is processed all the time. In processing information, affirmations given to the brain will help build focus and reality, so individuals must always provide positive affirmations and thoughts towards themselves.
Furthermore, Mr. Denny Farabi also delivered material regarding individual characteristics and different learning styles. Individual learning styles can be visual, auditory or kinesthetic learning styles. If an individual belongs to the visual learning style, then they are someone who learns more easily by using pictures, colors, maps or graphs in notes. The auditory learning style is a learning style that emphasizes sound so that it will be younger if you learn by using notes or songs or expressing what you understand to other people. Lastly, the kinesthetic learning style is a learning style that involves as many parts of the body as possible.
Mr. Denny Farabi also provided material on how to regulate emotions, reduce laziness and control yourself. He said that the power of thought is very important to determine what will happen in reality. All participants were very enthusiastic about the material presented as shown by active discussions during the activity.
