The Master of Science and Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held another Alumni Talk with the theme “From MSA FEB UGM to A PhD Overseas: Achieving an LPDP Scholarship & Studying PhD Abroad” on Friday, February 6, 2026. The event invited Lufi Yuwana Mursita, S.E., M.Sc., CA, CPMA. (MSA FEB UGM Alumni & LPDP Scholarship Awardee) as the keynote speaker. The event took place online via Google Meet from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM WIB and was open to the public.
In this event, Lufi Yuwana Mursita, S.E., M.Sc., CA, CPMA. shared her academic and professional experiences from studying in the Master of Science in Accounting Program at FEB UGM to successfully pursuing her doctoral studies abroad with the support of an LPDP Scholarship. She outlined comprehensive preparation strategies, from study planning, research proposal development, strengthening her academic track record, to the scholarship and university selection process. The speakers also emphasized the importance of consistency between educational background, research interests, and the contributions they hope to make after completing their doctoral studies.
The participants’ enthusiasm was evident in the high level of participation in the discussion session. Various questions were raised regarding strategies for developing personal statements, selecting PhD research topics, experiences with LPDP interviews, and the challenges of academic adaptation in an international environment. The discussion was lively and dynamic, reflecting the participants’ strong interest in pursuing doctoral studies abroad.
Through this Alumni Talk, it is hoped that participants will gain broader insights into the PhD pathway supported by the LPDP Scholarship and be motivated to prepare themselves more thoroughly, both academically and mentally. The event concluded with a group documentation session, marking the end of an inspiring event filled with real-life experiences from MSA FEB UGM alumni who are active on the global stage.
