The Masters and Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB UGM) closes activities in 2018 with the Final Meeting of 2018 which is held on December 27, 2018. The event held in the Lippo MD Room of FEB UGM was attended by all managers and employees.
Yogyakarta – Friday, November 30th 2018, Master of Science and Doctorate Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB-UGM) held a public defence on behalf of Dr. Waluyo Budi Atmoko, MM. Dr. Waluyo Budi Atmoko, MM who is a student in Management Studies Program FEB UGM who is also a Lecturer in the Management Program Study, Faculty of Business Accounting, Setia Budi University. Dr. Waluyo Budi Atmoko, MM get the 4249th Doctorate which passed the exam at Gadjah Mada University and the 261st which moved the exam at FEB UGM with a Very Satisfactory predicate.
Yogyakarta – Friday, November 30th 2018 located on the 6th Floor, Djarum Foundation Hall, Pertamina Tower Building, Master of Science and Doctoral Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB-UGM) in collaboration with the Program to Extend Scholarships and Training to Achieve Sustainable Impacts (USAID-PRESTASI) held a morning seminar. Seminar with the theme: Oil Price Shock, Government Intervention, and the Optimal Monetary Policy in a Small Open Economy.
Management Synergy in the Framework of Quality Improvement in the Doctoral Program in Indonesia was the theme of this year’s Indonesian Management Doctoral Program (APDMI) meeting. The national seminar and colloquium with management and doctoral program student participants from various universities in Indonesia became the format of the event held at the Indonesian Economic High School (Surabaya). This activity held on 27th -29th November 2018.
The main speakers in this forum were Prof. Dr. Mts. Arief, M.M., MBA., CPM. (Secretary of APDMI), Prof. Dr. Paulina Pannen, M.Ls. (Academic Staff of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education), and Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE. (Secretary of the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education). The speakers explained about higher education policies, challenges, opportunities, and their implications for the management of doctoral programs in Indonesia.
The Master of Science and Doctoral Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB-UGM) participated in this activity. The delegation from MD FEB-UGM consisted of directors, managers, employees, and doctoral students and was led by Nurul Indarti, PhD as the Directors Management Doctoral Program of Management of FEB UGM. In detail, the MD FEB-UGM delegation was Nurul Indarti, Ph.D. (director), Tur Nastiti, Ph.D. (manager), Tri Widiyanto, S.E. (Head of Finance), Handayani, S.E. (Head of Academic), Quinci Fransiska Kambuaya (Doctoral Management Student), and Linda Ariany Mahastanti (Doctoral Management Student).
Management Breakthrough and Doctoral Journey VI 2019 will be held on April 26th -27th 2019 at MD FEB UGM. This activity will be in synergy with colloquium and conference (DCC) doctoral activities coordinated by the Student and Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business Doctoral Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (IMADEBGAMA). Yogyakarta-Friday, November 23th 2018, Student Communication Forum for the Master of Science (FORKOMSI FEB-UGM) held a seminar with the theme: Use of Bibliometric in Research Analysis. The seminar was delivered by Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand. Merc., Ph.D and Ira Setyaningsih, S.T., M.Sc.
Bibliometric is a set of method mathematics and statistics used to analyze and organize publications. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand. Merc., PhD said that bibliometric is very closely related in conducting literature studies. Ira Setyaningsih, S.T., M.Sc. with Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom, Cand. Merc., Ph.D and Ferry Jie themselves have completed an article published in the International Journal Management Concepts, and Philosophy entitled Bibliometric Analysis of the Term ‘Green Manufacturing’ There are five steps that must be followed when doing bibliometric analysis, which is defining keywords , determine the initial search results, perfect search results, compile statistical data, and analyze data.
Software that can be used to do bibliometrics, such as BibExcel, HistCite, Publish or Perish, and so on. Correctly, at this seminar, Ira Setyaningsih explained the use of software Publish or Perish (PoP) for the bibliometric analysis process. The seminar was closed with a question and answer session between the participants and speakers as well as the announcement of the winners of the FORKOMSI call for the essay competition. (DYR)
Yogyakarta, to improve the ability of students in writing scientific papers following the rules of proper use of Indonesian language, on November 16th 2018, Master of Science and Doctoral Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB-UGM) held a public lecture.
Jakarta- following up on the offer of educational cooperation initiated by the BPK RI, on November 16th 2018, the Science and Doctoral Masters Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (MD FEB-UGM) visited the State Audit Agency, Republic of Indonesia (BPK-RI) for sustainability educational cooperation. The MD FEB-UGM program is represented by Prof. Catur Sugianto, Ph.D., Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom, Cand. Merc, Ph.D., Wiwin Purwanti and Riana Wijayanti, who were then welcomed by Ruslan Ependi as the Head of Competency Development and Performance Appraisal Division along with three HR staff.
Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom, Cand. Merc, Ph.D., as a Director of the Management Study Program of MD FEB UGM then explained the explanation related to the Magister Double Degree Science program. The double degree program is designed for 24 months. The first eighteen months (3 semesters) students study at the MSc FEB UGM program, and then one last semester is given the opportunity to study at a partner university, University of Newcastle, Australia. Ruslan Ependi gave a positive spirit, and the two agencies agreed to carry out educational cooperation in 2019 by sending staff from the BPK to take part in the dual degree program of the MSc FEB UGM and the University of Newcastle Australia. Jakarta – On November 14th-15th 2018, three students of the Master of Science Program in Management FEB UGM managed to become the top 9 finalists in the 2018 PPM Regional Business Business Competition held at Mandiri University, Jakarta. The three students are Raden Roro Hasthi Nurroktriana Mispawanti, William Wendy Ary, and Nia Ariyani Erlin, who are members of the “Athena” team. PPM Regional Business Case Competition is an annual event of PPM School of Management (PPM SoM), which is the 9th year of competition for business cases at the Asian level. The issue raised in this case of competition is the issue of migrant workers.
The paper entitled “Mandiri Keluargaku” and “Poin Keluargaku” as an Escalating Strategy of Mandiri Sabahatku Program, succeeded in bringing the Athena team to the final nine after eliminating 50 previous teams. The Athena Team offers a solution to migrant workers to harmonise migrants with migrant families through ‘Mandiri Keluargaku’ and ‘Poin Keluargaku’. In an interview with the Athena team, Raden Roro Hasthi Nurroktriana Mispawanti who is familiarly called Rara said that “Never be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, when we try new things outside campus activities, we will get new lessons related to special skills such as communication skills, arguments and express opinions “.
Nia Ariyani Erlin who is familiarly called Nia also said “that increasingly aware of many other things we have to learn about design thinking, how to think quickly, and how to brush in teams (as a leader and as a follower)”. The Athena team then gave motivation to friends to have high self-confidence, both when raising opinions and debating an idea. The Athena Team also appreciates the activities held by the MD FEB-UGM program such as design thinking which is very helpful when we are required to think quickly. Hopefully, more and more MD FEB-UGM students will participate in this competition, and the implementation of MD FEB-UGM support programs such as learning related to communication skills, public speaking, curriculum vitae making which according to them is essential in the execution phase, Congratulations Athena Team. The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) sent 29 delegates to the immersion program held at Singapore Management University (SMU). The activity which was held on November 13-14, 2018 focused on studying business processes in leading academic institutions in Asia. This activity is an active step for FEB UGM to continue to develop into a leading business school institution in Indonesia that contributes significantly to international scope.
Located at the SMU School of Law Building, this activity presents discussions among institutions in a variety of managerial activities in the fields of finance, information technology, quality assurance, human resources, cooperation and corporate branding, academics, and student services. Three delegates from the Master of Science and Doctoral Program FEB UGM (MD FEB UGM) were Sutopo Yuwono Sunu, Riana Wijayanti, and Tur Nastiti.
The discussion process resulted in various institutional development ideas for the FEB UGM delegation. In the cooperation and corporate branding, Riana Wijayanti learned that a systematic and structured business process is needed from a strategic level to an operational level to demonstrate the contribution of the field of cooperation in MD FEB UGM. Commitment from the leader and the participation of employees as ambassadors of the branding of an institution are essential prerequisites in various activities for managing collaborative activities that are in harmony with the mission and vision. Meanwhile, Sutopo Yuwono Sunu noted that the facilities owned by an educational institution must continue to develop following the dynamic movements of its students who are currently dominated by the millennial generation. Besides, attention to environmental sustainability must be considered in line with the development of various facilities. In the field of human resource management, this forum noted that the best talents from teachers and practitioners in the managerial field of educational institutions are needed for mature and professional work collaboration processes.
After participating in this activity, the delegates were given the opportunity to carry out managerial innovations that were beneficial for the development of business processes within their respective scope of duties.
