General Lecture with National Cheng Chi University (NCCU)

Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the Master of Science and Doctoral Program of FEB UGM held another guest lecture with “Academic Research and Publication Workshop on Gender and

Sustainability Issues” as a theme by inviting Prof. Yenn-Ru Chen and Prof. Chia-Hsiang Weng from National Cheng Chi University (NCCU) as the main speakers. This event was officially opened by Prof. Mamduh Mahmadah Hanafi, M.B.A., Ph.D. as the Head of the Doctoral Program in Management Science at FEB UGM

This event was held offline at 09.30-12.00 WIB at the BRI Auditorium, 3rd floor and continued in the Lippo room, 2nd floor of the Master of Science and Doctoral Building FEB UGM until 15.00 PM.

The guest lecture began with a brief introduction by Prof. Yenn-Ru Chen and Prof. Chia-Hsiang Weng before starting the material. In the first presentation, Prof. Chia-Hsiang Weng, or often called Prof. Mike Weng, presented an article on News Media Political Ideology and Corporate Voluntary Environment Social Governance (ESG) Disclosures. He reviewed news media political ideology and corporate voluntary ESG disclosures. Later on, the event was continued by Prof. Yenn-Ru Chen who highlighted gender issues, especially reviewing the findings of several articles focusing on female workers in a country. She presented the second session by interacting with the participants. Furthermore, the last session focused on thesis coaching from students who had sustainability-related topics to discuss with several experts and fellow students. The event concluded with an award ceremony and a memorable group photo.
