The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM participated in the Kyoto Winter School activities organized by The Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University. The activity was successfully carried out online through a Zoom meeting starting from February 28 – March 12, 2022. This activity aims to provide the understanding and facilitate critical, productive, collaborative, and creative discussions, related to ecological health, social equality, empowerment and cultural creativity in the country’s territory, parts of East and Southeast Asia, leading to compromised inclusivity and long-term sustainability.
Kyoto Winter School ran for 2 hours every day. Overall, there were four sessions in this activity, such as the opening session, lecture session, culture exchange session, and graduate student workshop/closing session. Mrs. Grace Wong, a researcher and academic at Stockholm University, was present to give a speech also provide material. There were ten lecturers along with the Kyoto Winter School agenda who will fill the lecture session. The Master of Science and Doctoral Program FEB UGM includes Mr. Rimawan Pradiptyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom, Cand. Merc., Ph.D. in Kyoto Winter School this time.
The whole event went smoothly. The presentation of each presenter can be conveyed well and provide insight and knowledge for the participants. Kyoto Winter School participants were very enthusiastic because they actively participated in the discussion session. Through this activity, it is hoped that the important issues regarding the sustainability from the social, economic, environmental, cultural aspects, especially in the East and Southeast Asia region, can get attention and get better solutions.
