Daru Asih, S.E., M.Sc. officially holds doctorate degree as 4438th at Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the 268th at the Faculty of Economics and Business, with a very satisfying predicate with a dissertation title “Religiosity and Spirituality: Measurements and Their Effects on Religion and Shopping Orientation”. The promoter team consisted of Prof. Basu Swastha Dharmmesta, MBA., Ph.D. as promoter, BM. Purwanto, MBA., Ph.D. as co-promoter.
The open defense doctoral promotion was opened by the chairman of the examining team Kusdhianto Setiawan, Sivilekonom., Ph.D, as Deputy Dean for Finance, Assets and Human Resources, and was attended by the promoter team. In addition, there were also examiners and assessment teams, namely Yulia Arisnani W., MBA., Ph.D., Bayu Sutikno, MSM., Ph.D., Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom., Cand., Merc., Ph.D . The promoter team, the testing team, and the assessment team tested Dr. Daru Asih, S.E., M.Sc. by asking questions.
Using multiple regression data analysis and binomial logistic regression methods, Dr. Daru Asih, S.E., M.Sc. aims to validate measurements and examine the influence of both constructs on unemployment and shopping orientation. Online samples of 539 respondents consisting of 57.52 percent women and 42.48 percent men. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that in women, religiosity can affect one’s modesty, while in spirituality constructs both men and women, both can explain the variance of modesty. In the context of religiosity and spirituality, it does not have a reciprocal relationship with shopping orientation. Finally the religious construct in shopping orientation is significantly moderated by gender. The results of the study are practically useful in marketing strategy decision making, especially the development of shops or shopping centers and market segmentation. It is recommended that further research needs conceptual development, instrument development or deeper validation on the measurement of religiosity and spirituality.
The open defense for doctoral promotion ends with the submission of a diploma by the chairman of the session and followed by a joint photo session. Prof. Basu Swastha Dharmmesta, MBA., Ph.D. as a promoter said that congratulations to Dr. Daru Asih, S.E., M.Sc., hopefully she can become strong academics to develop science.
