Strategi penelitian di buku ini dikelompokkan dua kelompok utama, yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Strategi penelitian kuantitatif yang dibahas di buku adalah survei manual dan survei internet, studi kasus kuantitatif, eksperimen, dan analisis sitasi bibliometrik.

Buku ini ditujukan kepada mahasiswa-mahasiswa dan peneliti-peneliti di bidang ilmu sosial khususnya ilmu ekononomi, bisnis, dan akuntansi yang ingin memahami lebih lanjutan mengenai filosofi penelitian dan juga metodologi penelitian.
