Researcher’s Enrichment (REACH) Program

Yogyakarta-Thursday, September 10th, 2020. The Second Day of Welcoming and Academic Direction for New Student continued with the Researcher’s Enrichment (REACH) Program. REACH Program is a series of ongoing events given to students in the form of training and workshops and is given every semester for 4 semesters. Due to the pandemic that requires activities to be carried out online, the REACH program does not include a scholar’s day out or introduction to the campus environment. Providing material giving materials such as UGM’s Philosophy, Application of Learning Research Methods, Academic Support Tools, Communication Skills, and Anti-plagiarism.

In general, the agenda took place in 4 sessions. The first session was a “UGM Philosophy Seminar” by Prof. Dr. dr. Sutaryo, Sp.A. (K)., the participants were invited to identify UGM History, 2 Philosophical ​​and 5 Identity Values, and explore some of UGM’s contributions to the nation and the world. In the second session, Prof. Jogiyanto Hartono M., MBA., Ph.D. in his material entitled “Student Centered Learning (SCL)” explains the Philosophy, Approaches, and Application of Learning Research Methods where SCL is here to answer criticism and learning demands. Furthermore, the third session was a material entitled “Academic Support Tools” by Prof. Catur Sugiyanto, M.A., Ph.D. Prof. Catur explained that support in academics consists of human resources and facilities in the form of software and hardware. Furthermore, in the last session, all new students were introduced to student organizations for the Master of Science program, namely FORKOMSI and the Doctoral Program, namely IMADEBGAMA. Attending to introduce the student organization Taufik Akbar as the head of FORKOMSI and Muizzudin as the head of IMADEBGAMA.

In addition to this, other than that“New Student Briefing and Research Based Study” in Semester I, the REACH Program in Semester II is “Design Thinking Workshop“, Semester III “Writing for Publication“, and the last program in Semester IV is “Mind Power and Control”.

The event was closed with a photo with all participants with the Management of the Master of Science and Doctoral Program of FEB UGM. (RP)
