On Thursday, November 6, 2025, the Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) of FEB UGM held a sharing session titled “Studying at Adam Smith Business
School, University of Glasgow: Challenges and Scholarship Opportunities.” The event featured Novika Grasiaswaty, a Ph.D. student in Management at the University of Glasgow and an LPDP Scholarship awardee, as the main speaker. The session took place offline from 1:30 to 3:30 PM in Ruang Satyajaya, 2nd floor, MD FEB UGM Building.
In this session, Novika Grasiaswaty shared her inspiring journey pursuing a doctoral degree at Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious business schools. She recounted her academic experiences, from the application process and adapting to an international academic environment to maintaining motivation throughout her studies.
Beyond academic life abroad, Novika also provided practical insights into LPDP scholarship opportunities, including the selection process, tips for writing persuasive essays, and strategies for excelling in interviews. She emphasized the importance of thorough preparation and a clear sense of purpose in convincing scholarship committees.
The session was highly interactive, with participants enthusiastically engaging in discussions about studying abroad, the academic culture in the UK, and post-study career prospects. Through this activity, MD FEB UGM students were encouraged to pursue international study opportunities and make the most of available scholarship programs.
The event concluded with a group photo session, marking the end of an inspiring afternoon filled with motivation to continue learning and achieving at the global level.
