Friday, September 20, 2024, the Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) Program of FEB UGM successfully held a regular thesis coaching session titled “Common Method Bias Testing Methods,” featuring Dr. Ridwan Saptoto, S.Psi., M.A., a psychologist and lecturer from the Faculty of Psychology, UGM.
The event took place from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM WIB at the BRI Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Master of Science and Doctoral Building, FEB UGM.
In this thesis coaching session, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Common Method Bias (CMB) testing methods, which is often a significant concern in survey-based research. Dr. Ridwan provided a comprehensive introduction to the concept of CMB, starting from its general definition, the potential impacts on research outcomes, and techniques that can be used to detect and address this bias. The discussion went well, with several students posing questions that reflected their deep interest in the topic. With the conclusion of this event, it is hoped that participants will strengthen their understanding of the importance of CMB testing in their research.
