Friday, 15 September 2023, the FEB UGM Master of Science and Doctoral Program held a Thesis Coaching activity with Bibliometric Analysis material delivered by Ms. Arizona Mustika Rini, SE, M.Bus(Acc)., Ph.D., Ak., CA. The activity, which is mandatory for students who are writing their final assignments, is held at the BRI Auditorium, Fl. 3 FEB UGM Master of Science and Doctoral Program Building.
The discussion regarding Bibliometric Analysis begins with a presentation of material regarding the basic concepts of Bibliometric Analysis. Bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer is the process of constructing and viewing a bibliometric map using a program/software based on specified article characteristics. Then the presentation continues with the main components of bibliometric analysis which consist of citation analysis which examines articles based on author, source, organization and country; co-citation analysis (co-citation analysis) which examines cited sources, references and cited authors, and bibliometric coupling which examines the number of references shared in the same two articles, as well as how to obtain and collect bibliographic data.
At the end of the session, all participants were jointly given access to Google Classroom and carried out the practice of replicating Bibliometric Analysis with VOSviewer based on the Mustikarini & Adhariani article (MAR, 2021). The activity, which aims to deepen the material, especially for students who are writing their final assignments, was carried out with high enthusiasm from the participants that was conveyed through active discussions between the participants and the resource person during the activity.
