Yogyakarta – Oktober 2nd, 2021
The webinar with the theme “Mapping Research Topics Using the Scopus Database” is one of the agendas in a series of celebrations for the 41 years of the Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) FEB UGM. The event, which was held through the Zoom Meeting on October 2nd, 2021, was very well received by the participants, such as MD FEB UGM directors, FEB UGM lecturers, students, alumni, guests, and general participants.
The event started with the opening and then followed by singing Indonesia Raya and Gadjah Mada Hymne. The next session was the manager’s report represented by Mrs. Heni Wahyuni, M.Ec.Dev.Ph.D. The next agenda was a speech from Mr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FEB UGM. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the success of the MD Program, which has now reached 41 years. Webinars like this also really support research progress.
This webinar program aims to facilitate participants to find it easy to map research topics to answer research gaps and obtain needed novelties. On this occasion, two extraordinary speakers were present, namely Mr. Usman Arief, S.E., M.S.M., and Mr. Purwoko. Both provide material on bibliometric analysis through software. Mr. Usman Arief uses the R software, while Mr. Purwoko uses the VosViewer software. They used the Scopus database, so the results of the analysis can be used to determine interesting topics and very relevant to current conditions.
This program is very useful in supporting innovative research contributions with a more efficient topic selection process because it uses the software. The enthusiasm of the participants was very high from the beginning until the event ended. The webinar session ended with the discussion session, question and answer session, and took photos together.
