Yogyakarta – Friday, 29 November 2019. Master of Science and Doctoral Program, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (MD FEB UGM) held a Workshop on Systematic Literature Studies with Bibliometric Techniques. This activity was attended by 30 participants from various backgrounds and occupations which were dominated by students and lecturers of FEB UGM and also participated by students and lecturers from other universities such as Jember University, Makassar State University, and Sanata Dharma University. The Workshop aims to train systematic research literature capabilities that are closely related to current research topics, and linking research topic with relevant Issue, using a bibliometric application technology-based including Publish or Perish, VoS Viewer, and Microsoft Access. The Bibliometric Workshop activity is carried out in 8 (eight) hours. There are two main sessions in this activity, the first “introduction of the use of Bibliometrics in the study of literature” and the second “steps to conduct a study of Bibliometrics”.
The first session material was delivered by Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom, Cand.Merc., Ph.D. with the title “Use of Bibliometrics in the study of literature”. The presentation, the speakers explained how the literature review research process, included: choosing the right topic by searching for keywords, using relevant databases/search engines, and the need to consider the period of research agenda. However, the presentation of the material presented by participants to be able to summarize a variety of literature in a particular field or topic and draw conclusions and provide criticism on the issues studied.
The second session material was delivered by Andi Susilo Lukito Budi, SE., M.Comm. Which convey related to “the steps of conducting Bibliometric studies”. Through his presentation, the speaker explained how the process of conducting literature review through the Publish or Perish application software, Vos Viewer and Microsoft Access. The explanation was explained in a very technical and detailed. Program starting from the initial process of conducting conceptual maps (determining study objectives, making research questions, and making keywords), Engineering work with use software for data analysis, and the last process of making a final report for Bibliometric studies.
The Workshop exists with enthusiasm of the participants at each session, the questions and answers until the event was closed with the submission of certificates and a group photo. (MIA)
