The Master of Science Student Communication Forum (FORKOMSI) FEB UGM held a 5^th Grand Deliberation (MUBES V) on Saturday (18/12/2021) via online through Zoom meeting. The grand deliberation event started at 07.30 a.m., which began with the registration for participants in 30 minutes. The theme of MUBES V FORKOMSI is “Regeneration of FORKOMSI FEB UGM leadership to form a management that is progressive, innovative, and has integrity in the science for Master of Science students FEB UGM.”

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM has successfully held a scientific discussion event, namely MD REFO #3 on December 17, 2021. The third MD REFO (Research Forum) presented Mr. Syaiful Ali, MIS, Ph.D., a lecturer at the Department of Accounting FEB UGM and Professional Accountant Certification Board, as speakers and Mr. Aviandi Okta Maulana, M.Acc., Ph.D., lecturer at the Department of Accounting FEB UGM, as moderators. This scientific forum attended by 87 participants consisting of various parties, including students, academics, practitioners, and the general public.

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM has successfully held a scientific discussion event, namely MD REFO #2 on December 14^th, 2021. The second MD REFO (Research Forum) presented Mrs. Denni Puspa Purbasari, M.Sc., Ph.D. as a speaker, and Mrs. Qisha Quarina, M.Sc., Ph.D. as moderator. This scientific forum attended by 84 participants consisting of various parties, including students, academics, practitioners, and the general public. During the scientific discussion that was held online yesterday, Mrs. Denni explained the axiology of economics, where there are academic and practical uses. She then continued with an explanation of how a policy can be successfully targeted according to its objectives. This was later linked to his role in the Pre-Employment Card Program.

The first MD REFO (Research Forum) presented Mrs. Widya Paramita, M.Sc., Ph.D . as a speaker and Mr. Dr. Sahid Susilo Nugroho, M.Sc. as a moderator. This scientific forum attended by 84 participants consisting of various parties, including students, academics, practitioners, and the general public. On the occasion of a scientific discussion held online yesterday, Mrs. Widya discussed her research about self-presentation strategies through social media, which had been successfully published in the Journal of Advertising (Q1).

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM has held an open examination for doctoral promotion in Management Science for Ph.D. candidate Elok Pakaryaningsih. Mr. Suyanto, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, acted as Chair of the Session. In the Open Examination, presented Prof. Marwan Asri, M.B.A., Ph.D. as the promoter and Kusdhianto Setiawan, Sivilekonom, Ph.D. and Eddy Junarsin, M.B.A., Ph.D. as co-promoter. In addition, the assessment team was also present which included I Wayan Nuka Lantara, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Bowo Setiyono, M.Com., Ph.D. The team of examiners in this trial was Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, M.B.A., Ph.D., and Prof. Mamduh Hanafi, M.B.A., Ph.D. Also attending were the families of the doctoral candidates, working relatives from Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW), and guests.

The Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from Universitas Khairun (UnKhair) which is located in Ternate, North Maluku. This visit was carried out online in the context of a comparative study by the Postgraduate Program UnKhair to the Doctoral Program FEB UGM. In this event, UnKhair was represented by the director and lecturers, then the MD FEB UGM Program presented the director and staff of the MD program. The purpose of this visit is to conduct a comparative study on the Doctor of Science in Management Program related to the plan of the Universitas Khairun to open a Doctor of Management Program.

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM held an online workshop with the topic “The Process towards International Journal Publication” through a Zoom meeting. This activity aims to enrich students’ knowledge in terms of scientific publications, especially in international journals, to increase research contributions. On this occasion, we present Dr. Sumiyana, Akt., M.Sc., as a presenter and Prof. Dr. Jogiyanto H M, M. B. A., CMA., as a moderator. This workshop was attended by 104 participants.

Blockchain is an interesting innovation that is very applicable for digital data storage. This technology is connected through cryptography and can execute transactions more conveniently. Following the development of blockchain, many benefits can be obtained in the present. This current issue needs to be understood further. After successfully holding a webinar series about blockchain, the Master of Science and Doctoral Program FEB UGM held a workshop with the topic “Blockchain in Developing Countries.” This event presents Prof. Nir Kshetri from The University of North Carolina, USA, as the speaker and Prof. Dr. Mamduh M. Hanafi from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, as moderator.

The Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from Universitas Palangka Raya (UPR) and Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN). The visit was carried out online in the context of a comparative study by FEB UPR and FEB UNTAN with the Doctor of Science in Management Program FEB UGM. In this event, FEB UPR and FEB UNTAN were represented by managers, staff, and lecturers, then the MD FEB UGM Program presented managers and staff of the MD program. The purpose of this visit is to conduct a comparative study on the Doctor of Science in Management Program related to the plan of the Universitas Palangka Raya to open a Doctor of Management Program. Universitas Tanjungpura also attended to provide advice regarding his experience of having just run the Doctor of Management program while increasing his knowledge through a comparative study to MD FEB UGM.

Cryptocurrency semakin populer dikenal sebagai alat pembayaran alternatif selain mata uang resmi. Problematika dan masa depan crypto kemudian muncul seiring dengan kemajuan praktik penggunaannya. Berkaca dari hal tersebut, Program Magister Sains dan Doktor FEB UGM mengadakan diskusi menarik pada tanggal 12 November dalam sesi webinar dengan topik “Cryptocurrency Dalam Perspektif Syariah: Problematika dan Masa Depan” yang menghadirkan Prof. Dian Masyita, Ph.D. dan Bapak Eddy Junarsin, MBA., Ph.D., CFP sebagai pembicara. Acara tersebut dipandu oleh Bapak Usman Arief, S.E., MSM. Webinar yang terbuka untuk umum ini dihadiri sebanyak 216 peserta yang berasal dari kalangan dosen, mahasiswa, alumni, hingga praktisi.
