Yogyakarta, 21 December 2020. The Master of Science and Doctoral Program FEB UGM has held an Open Examination for Doctoral Program for Promovendus Hasan. Act as chairman in this exam, Mr. Dr. C. Budi Santoso, M.Bus., at the same time opening the exam. Also present were Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, M.B.A., Ph.D. as a promoter, Prof. Mamduh M. Hanafi, M.B.A., Ph.D., and I Wayan Nuka Lantara, M.Sc., Ph.D. as co-promoter. Also, the team of assessors attended this open session, including Prof. Marwan Asri, M.B.A., Ph.D., Bowo Setiyono, M.Com., Ph.D., Dr. Wendy, M.Sc .; and also a team of examiners, including Dr. Agus Setiawan, M.Soc.Sc., and Eddy Junarsin, M.B.A., Ph.D., CFP. Also attending were the families of doctoral candidates, colleagues from Wahid Hasyim University Semarang, and even invited guests.
The chairperson of the trial opens the doctoral open promotion examination to provide further with the opportunity for the promoter to submit a profile of the promovendus and also offer questions. The session was continued by giving opportunities for the co-promoter, assessment team, and examiner team to ask questions about the doctoral candidate’s dissertation. Promovendus managed to defend his opinion and answer questions related to his dissertation entitled “Financial Inclusion, Microfinance, and Social Interaction: Study of Household Finance in Indonesia”. Hence, he successfully graduated with a “satisfactory” predicate.
Furthermore, based on the results of Dr. The Hasan program to increase financial inclusion should be adjusted to household characteristics. Besides, financial education to increase financial inclusion can be carried out by using simple financial services first, including utilizing microfinance services. Also, communities and the community can be conditioned to increase formal financial inclusion or become a substitute for financial services through the strength of mutual cooperation in society.
Dr. Hasan officially holds the 5009th doctorate who passed the exam at UGM and the 296th who graduated at FEB UGM. Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, M.B.A., Ph.D. as the promoter congratulated and advised the new doctor that at this point was the beginning of a long journey as an academic and it is crucial to pay attention to the Tridharma of Higher Education, especially research. So that with research and publications, Dr. Hasan can improve knowledge and teaching in the classroom.
