The paper presented by Airlangga was entitled “The Role of Openness to Change Value System and Positive Affect on Pragmatic Legitimacy Judgment: Company Familiarity as Moderating Variable” and was his thesis which was conducted with Dr. Rangga Almahendra, S.T., M.M., his master supervisor.
Research which was conducted by Airlangga and Dr. Rangga Almahendra, S.T., M.M. was based on the fact that the assessment of the company’s pragmatic legitimacy is basically not only a phenomenon at the organizational level, but also at the individual level. Using data from 211 respondents and using the structural equation modeling–partial least square (SEM-PLS) method, this study uses variables at the individual level such as the value system of openness to change, positive affection, and company familiarity that have the potential to influence the pragmatic legitimacy of the company. The result shows that the value system of openness to change and positive affection has a positive effect on the pragmatic legitimacy of the company. Furthermore, company familiarity moderates the effect of the openness value system on changes in pragmatic legitimacy assessments, but there is no evidence that firm familiarity moderates the effect of positive affection on pragmatic legitimacy judgments.
