Yogyakarta-Friday, August 14, 2020. The Association of Students and Alumni of the Doctoral Program FEB UGM (IMADEBGAMA) held the first Sharing Session entitled “Casual and Quality Talk” with the topic of Research and Publication in Reputable Journals. This event was attended by 43 students of the FEB UGM Doctoral Program, exceeding the initial target of 35 participants. The event which was supported by the Chair of the Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM was considered successful with great enthusiasm from the participants.

Yogyakarta-August 13rd, 2020. One of the students in the Master of Science in Management Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, made an academic accomplishment. Yogyakarta-Tuesday, 4 August 2020. Airlangga Surya K. M.Sc., alumni of the Master of Science in Management program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, won the best paper award at the International Graduates Colloquium (IGC). This conference is part of The 5th International Conference on Management in Emerging Markets (ICMEM) 2020 which was held virtually by the School of Business and Management , Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB) on 3rd-4th August 2020. The paper presented by Airlangga was entitled “The Role of Openness to Change Value System and Positive Affect on Pragmatic Legitimacy Judgment: Company Familiarity as Moderating Variable” and was his thesis which was conducted with Dr. Rangga Almahendra, S.T., M.M., his master supervisor.

Yogyakarta- Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Nur Cahyonowati, S.E., M.Sc., Ak., an Accounting Lecturer in the Faculty of Economics and Business Diponegoro University, officially received a Doctorate degree after becoming a promovendus in a virtual Open Examination in the Master of Science and Doctoral Program at FEB UGM. This Member of the Indonesian Higher Education Tax Center Association (ATPETSI) was able to defend his dissertation entitled “Determining Factors and Quality of Tax Compliance: Testing the Slippery Slope Theory” before the examining team. Yogyakarta-July 24, 2020. Student Association and Alumni of the FEB UGM Doctoral Program (IMADEBGAMA) held an online discussion series titled “Behavioral Research Discussion #2”. The activity which was attended by 70 participants who were Students and Alumni of the FEB UGM Doctoral Program raised the topic of Experimental Research and Game Theory with guest speaker Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Economics, FEB UGM. Previously, the discussion series “Behavioral Research Discussion #1” held by IMADEBGAMA took place on June 19, 2020 with the topic “Behavioral Research Opportunities and Opportunities” by Dr. BM Purwanto, MBA.

The virtual forum which lasted for three (3) hours was aimed to: i) a means of discussion and knowledge sharing of research with an experimental economics and game theory approach; ii) increase understanding of experimental economics and game theory that can be used in the development of scientific fields of management, economics and accounting; iii) improve the quality of research by using experimental economics and game theory. With the title “Fight Against Covid-19 as a Sprint or Marathon? A Game Theory Modeling”, Lecturer in Economics of Criminality uses the design of a theoretical experimental game or co-19 countermeasure game to see the interaction between representative players between covid-19 and the state (government, business, and society). The battle against the covid-19 is called a pandemic game and is modeled in three by two settings: while the government has three strategies, the covid-19 has two. It also can be modeled as an infinitely repeated game, given the uncertainty of the end of the pandemic.

Yogyakarta – July 26, 2020. Andy Lukito, S.E., M.Bus. is one of the most accomplished student of the Doctoral in Management Program of FEB UGM. In fact, in the fourth year as a student, the teaching staff at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Univerisat Katolik Indonesia Atmajaya Jakarta has produced three (3) scopus indexed international journals namely the Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economics (JEEE)-Q1, Journal of Islamic Marketing (JIMA)-Q3, and one article on going in the Journal of Enterprising Communities (JEC)-Q2.

Tur Nastiti, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Vitradesie Noekent, S.E., M.M., a Lecturer in Administration Management at Semarang State University, officially holds a doctorate with a “very satisfying” predicate after the Head of the Examining Team reads the results of the examination for a dissertation entitled “Stakeholder Interaction in the Process of Disseminating Research Results and Higher Education Innovations in Indonesia”.
