Yogyakarta, December 14th, 2021

The Master of Science and Doctoral Program (MD) FEB UGM has successfully held a scientific discussion event, namely MD REFO #2 on December 14th, 2021. The second MD REFO (Research Forum) presented Mrs. Denni Puspa Purbasari, M.Sc., Ph.D. as a speaker, and Mrs. Qisha Quarina, M.Sc., Ph.D. as moderator. This scientific forum attended by 84 participants consisting of various parties, including students, academics, practitioners, and the general public. During the scientific discussion that was held online yesterday, Mrs. Denni explained the axiology of economics, where there are academic and practical uses. She then continued with an explanation of how a policy can be successfully targeted according to its objectives. This was later linked to his role in the Pre-Employment Card Program.

Based on economic theory, of course, a policy has pros and cons, it’s just that to minimize the contra, several things need to be understood. A master of economics or a person who is an expert in the field of economics is a combination of statisticians, mathematicians, and communicators must be able to explain abstract things into things that are easy to understand.

“What about the Pre-Employment Card?” She explained that the Pre-Employment Card system is a cash plus, which means that not only provides incentives but also provides human capital development or training. Incentives are given at the end due to people’s response to incentives. So, the design determines how successful the policy is. It should also be noted that this program has been tested for credibility by several institutions so that it has been trusted as a facility to improve the ability of human resources to be successful in their work.

After the speaker’s presentation, the forum continued with a discussion session. There were many interesting questions from the participants, which enriched their knowledge and were successfully discussed. Thus, each participant becomes more clear and reliable in understanding the Pre-Employment Card Program through the management. At the end of the event, there was a group photo session. (Y)
