The Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again demonstrated its international reach through the participation of three doctoral students: Noorina Hartati (Doctoral Student in Accounting) and Retno Wulandari and Siti Khoiriyah (Doctoral Students in Management), in the UBD SBE 2026 PhD Colloquium, organized by Universiti Brunei Darussalam at the UBD School of Business and Economics on April 23, 2026. This academic forum is designed to strengthen research culture and enhance the academic capacity of doctoral students through research presentations and constructive scientific discussions.
The PhD Colloquium was attended by 21 doctoral students from Brunei and Indonesia, representing various fields, including Business, Management, Finance, and Economics. Participants presented their research progress in parallel sessions, which were judged by experienced international academics. Through this forum, students had the opportunity to test the clarity of their arguments, strengthen their research methodology, and receive strategic input to improve their dissertations.
This event also featured a number of renowned academics as assessors from various global institutions, including Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, the University of New Orleans, and De La Salle University. The involvement of these experts provided participants with rich and in-depth perspectives in developing research quality that meets international standards.
During this series of events, Noorina Hartati also achieved a proud achievement, winning the 2nd Best Speaker award at the UBD School of Business and Economics PhD Colloquium. This achievement is a testament to the academic quality, scientific communication skills, and dedication of MD FEB UGM students in international forums.
