For the First Semester 2026/2027 intake, Ornela Beatrice Lichii, a student from Italy, joined the Doctoral Program in Economics. She stated that her motivation to pursue doctoral studies at FEB UGM stemmed from a desire to expand her knowledge and conduct research, alongside a strong determination to teach at the university level. Furthermore, she hopes to successfully complete her studies while gaining opportunities to learn from and engage in discussions with an academic community possessing diverse experiences, knowledge, and professionalism—particularly regarding the exchange of research ideas. Ornela also expressed her hope that cultural diversity would foster richer and more constructive discussion dynamics.
Additionally, Yilmaz Trigumari Syah Putra, a new student in the Master of Science in Management program with a background in data science, decided to pursue further studies to deepen his knowledge of management. He views this step as a strategic move to integrate his technical data science expertise with a comprehensive managerial perspective.
